Work starts on Europa’s new £60m Corby logistics facility

Work has started on Europa Worldwide Group’s new £60 million, future proofed 715,000 sq ft state-of-the-art logistics facility. Based at Midlands Logistics Park in Corby, the scheme is due for completion in June 2020.

Europa Worldwide Group is an independent logistics operator and the new site will become Europa’s largest in the UK. The new facility will be one of the “best in class” forming part of Europa Warehouse offering 3PL warehousing and logistics.

This new facility will double Europa Warehouse’s portfolio. The building is being constructed to a high-quality institutional specification, including above market standard 18 metre heights facilitating three floors of mezzanines.

Andrew Baxter, Managing Director at Europa Worldwide Group, said: “We’re delighted to announce this huge investment in our logistics operation at a time of massive growth at Europa.  This is the single biggest investment we have ever made since I acquired the business in 2013 and it demonstrates our ambition to strengthen our 3PL operation at a time of huge market growth particularly for e-commerce logistics.”

Midlands Logistics Park in Corby has created 2,200 local jobs since 2015. Built on the site of a former British Steel quarry and latterly Stanion Plantation, Midlands Logistics Park covers 150 acres.

The development has been agreed with Corby Land and Development Ltd, a joint venture between Mulberry Developments and Frogmore who will also develop out the facility. The main contractor is VolkerFitzpatrick. Europa is being supported by the team at Budworth Hardcastle (Property Consultants).
