Water treatment company relocates Derby office to Ednaston Park

Specialist water treatment company SMS Environmental has relocated from Derby city centre to the new Ednaston Park serviced office scheme near Ashbourne.

The company, which was previously located on Friar Gate, took the decision to relocate out of the city centre after outgrowing its existing premises.

SMS Environmental was founded in 2001 and now employs more than 100 staff at its head office in Oxfordshire and regional offices in Derby, Cardiff and Glasgow.

Its services include water treatment and consultancy, water and air hygiene, legionella risk assessment, engineering, training and Opuz compliance software.

The company currently serves around 1,300 clients across a broad range of sectors including commercial, retail, education, healthcare, historical, leisure, housing, industrial and infrastructure.

Ednaston Park, the former St Mary’s nursing home located on the A52 between Derby and Ashbourne was purchased by property investment and development company CWC Group in September 2017 and has since undergone a sympathetic refurbishment to transform the building and grounds into an impressive business centre.

It now comprises of 20,000 ft2 of flexible commercial space in the form of 32 office suites ranging in size from 54 ft2 to 526 ft2, available as single or multi-office lets. It also features meeting rooms, a break-out area and landscaped garden.

Commenting on SMS Environmental’s move to Ednaston Park, Lucy Delaney, business centre manager at Ednaston Park, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the SMS Environmental team to Ednaston Park. We’ve already seen them recruit another member of staff and look forward to seeing them thrive here in this magnificent building.

“To see so many local businesses making the decision to relocate from Derby city centre reflects the fantastic refurbishment programme that has been carried out, along with the quality of the office space and other services and facilities here. It also a reflection of the fantastic location which reduces the travel time to work for many local businesses and their employees.

“We look forward to welcoming more growing businesses to our strong and collaborative business community here in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside.”

Jordan Allsop, account manager, at SMS Environmental, added: “Having outgrown our previous premises, we started the search for a new base and were really impressed when we came to view Ednaston Park for the first time. It’s an exciting time for the business and we’re looking forward to making the most of their great facilities and enjoying the beautiful landscaped gardens here.

“Lucy has been really helpful right from our initial enquiry. We can’t wait to meet the rest of the team at Ednaston Park and get to know the other businesses that are also located here.”
