Plans from Fletcher Construction Midlands Ltd for a new student accommodation scheme in Nottingham have been submitted to the City Council.

The 60 bedroom accommodation would be built at 34 Tennyson Street. The current property on the site, a disused play centre that has been vacant for two years, would be demolished.

The development would consist of two blocks of four linked units and one block of two linked units. The units are proposed to be three stories and will each feature an open plan lounge and kitchen at ground level.

A design statement submitted on behalf of the applicant states: “It is concluded that whilst the site is located in an area with a relatively high student population, the development will bring significant regeneration benefits to the site itself, and the wider area.”
