Outline permission granted for 250 new homes at Awsworth

Outline planning permission has been granted for 250 homes in Awsworth, Nottinghamshire.

Consultants Pegasus Group secured a resolution to grant planning permission, subject to the signing of a Section 106 agreement, on land at Newtons Lane, Awsworth on behalf of Harworth Group PLC at a meeting of Broxtowe Borough Council.

Pegasus Group provided a series of services to achieve its success including, planning, design, landscape and public consultation services.

Guy Longley, Executive Director at Pegasus Group’s East Midlands office, said: “We are pleased that the planning committee followed the advice of officers and granted outline permission for the proposed development.

“Considerable stakeholder and community engagement work was carried out both through the promotion of the site through the Local Plan process and the subsequent planning application.”

Joanne Neville, Planning Manager at Harworth Group, said: “We are pleased to receive this positive outcome from Broxtowe’s Planning Committee, our application is the culmination of several years of planning promotion and technical due diligence throughout the preparation of the local plan and the submission of the planning application.

“We now intend to market the site to housebuilders, once the S106 is completed, so that this well connected site can start to deliver housing for the borough of Broxtowe.”
