A storage and distribution firm in Northamptonshire has invested in the development of its largest warehouse, transforming the site’s capacity, safety and efficiency.
The NX Group opened an additional 30,000 sq ft warehouse at Northampton’s Westgate Industrial Estate in mid-2017, as part of its NX Secure division.
The site now functions as the firm’s primary retail warehouse, responding to increasing demand for secure storage.
Several changes have recently been made across the Westgate warehouse which, combined, have paved the way for further growth within the firm.
Overseeing the improved premises is Russell Thompson, Operations Controller for the firm’s courier division, whose role has expanded to encompass site management at Westgate.
“Our customer base is expanding steadily each year, which has led to company-wide investments in our fleet, staff expansion and, most recently, improvements to our Westgate facility,” he said.
“We operate a closed pallet network, by which the vast majority of our deliveries are handled only by us from collection to delivery point, which means full traceability and minimised risk of damage.
“The increased surveillance at our Westgate site extends these advantages to our NX Secure division and leaves us even better-placed to take on customers with delicate or high-value goods.”
