Northampton chosen for new PPE manufacturing facility

Medicom, the manufacturers of medical and respiratory masks has chosen Brackmills Industrial Estate, Northampton for its new UK manufacturing facility.

This Northampton investment follows the long-term contract with Medicom to produce over 100 million respiratory masks and 500 million medical masks as announced in June this year by the UK Government.

The factory, which will house multiple production lines, will provide over 100 local jobs, with scope for more in the future.

The roles will support the production and delivery of procedural respiratory face masks and other protective equipment across the UK and internationally.

Hilary Chipping Chief Executive, SEMLEP said: “This investment is very welcome news for Northampton, and recognises the strength of our area in attracting and connecting industry expertise, logistics and our skilled local workforce to support the national response to the COVID-19 crisis.”
