Plans from KMRE Group for a new residential block consisting of 183 apartments have been submitted to Nottingham City Council.
The scheme, located at the site of the former Sentinel House, is at the corner of Traffic Street and Wilford Road. Sentinel House was previously three-storey light industrial works. Demolished in 2008, the site has since been vacant. It is in temporary use as a car park.
In 2007, planning consent was granted for an office / retail development with basement car parking. This consent was renewed in 2011, but the scheme was never constructed.
According to a design statement from cpmg, the new application will feature “contemporary, sustainable, high-density, high quality housing, which will be attractive to prospective tenants looking to live close to the city centre.”
The 183 new apartments will include 92 one-bed flats and 91 two-bed flats. 12 parking spaces are also proposed at lower ground floor level.
