Joules submits plans for new “centralised” office in Market Harborough

Joules, the Market Harborough lifestyle brand, has submitted plans for new headquarters on Rockingham Road in Market Harborough.

The plans propose the part-demolition and extension of an existing building, Compass House, and erection of new floor space and a two-storey car park on a 1.92 hectare site.

The development aims to centralise the fashion retailer’s head office to one site. Currently the Joules head office spreads across five buildings at The Point, also on Rockingham Road. 435 members of staff are to relocate, and 527 members of staff are to be on site by 2024.

A planning document states: “The opportunity to put down permanent roots in Market Harborough is a key driver for this project. Joules is a company that has deep roots in Market Harborough. The company was born and raised in the town and continues to grow there. Joules would like to build on this history by establishing a long term home in the town.

“The predicted growth of the company is not achievable within the confines of Joules’ current offices. To achieve continued success and growth, it is necessary to consolidate the Company’s head office functions, which are currently spread over five sites at The Point, into one centralised location.

“The proposed campus will streamline the company’s design processes, by allowing teams to work cross-functionally, thereby minimising the downtime and inefficiencies currently experienced whilst working across multiple buildings.”
