Plans from Rosconn Strategic Land for a new residential development on grassland opposite Bosworth College in Desford have been recommended for the green light.
Up to 80 homes could be constructed on the 3.46ha site if the plans are approved by the council next week.
40% of the housing would be affordable housing and a variation of house types would be provided.
The proposal includes open space and children’s play facilities.
A council document reads: “On balance it is considered that the harm identified to the character and appearance of the countryside from new residential development would not significantly and demonstrably outweigh the identified benefits of the scheme. Therefore, the presumption in favour of sustainable development does apply in this case and material considerations do justify making a decision other than in accordance with the development plan. The application is therefore recommended for approval.”
