Derby firm on track for expansion with new Pride Park offices

A long-established Derby firm, which provides specialist calibration and measurement solutions to the rail industry, has relocated part of its operations to high profile offices in Pride Park.

CoMech Metrology, formed in 1985, was previously based at the Rail Technology Centre in London Road.

The company is a market leader in the niche design, manufacture, distribution and calibration of measuring equipment primarily for major names in the national and international rail industry but with a growing customer portfolio in the automotive and aerospace sectors.

The deal for CoMech’s move to the 3,948 sq ft offices in Victoria Way was secured by Derbyshire commercial property agents OMEETO on behalf of landlord Bailey Construction and paves the way for future expansion and customer diversification.

OMEETO director Chris Wright explained: “This is a significant move for CoMech Metrology which was keen to expand into self-contained premises to raise their profile and provide scope for future expansion.

“The premises in Victoria Way are easily accessible by rail, road and air and the high quality facilities have the flexibility to combine office space with high tech laboratory, assembly and warehousing.

“Their brief was to find high quality premises in a premium location with storage. Having offered a range of options we were able to complete this deal in a timely manner – dovetailing the new occupier with the outgoing tenant.”

CoMech Managing Director Matthew Pallett continued: “We are delighted to announce the move to our new offices on Pride Park.

“The new building will provide a great new space for CoMech to enhance operational efficiencies which will help us continue to grow and develop to keep pace with our clients’ needs – enabling us to continue to provide exceptional value and service along the way.

“Our new space will also give us the opportunity to build on our culture and brand as a company, as well as be able to better tailor our working environment to meet employee needs.

“We are confident that the new space will provide CoMech the appropriate platform to continue to recruit, retain and motivate world class employee base.”

Salloway Property Consultants acted as joint agents.
