Derby-based proptech platform Homemove has acquired one of the UK’s original property websites, Home.co.uk, in a deal that underlines the city’s growing reputation as a base for national tech innovation.
The acquisition follows Homemove’s $5 million growth funding round earlier this year and will see the company build on Home.co.uk’s 30-year heritage with new technology, customer-first innovation, AI-led insight and a free-to-list model for estate agents nationwide – delivering even more value for agents and home movers.
James Freestone, co-founder & CEO of Homemove, said: “Derby is where Homemove’s operations heartbeat lies, and we’re proud to grow a national brand from a regional base. Acquiring Home.co.uk supercharges what we’re building — a simpler, smarter, more connected moving experience for everyone.”
Ben Horton, founder of Home.co.uk, said: “Homemove has the innovation and energy to take what Home.co.uk has built and amplify it. This is a natural evolution that benefits agents, movers and the wider market.”
Homemove operates from Derby and Norwich with a UK-wide presence. Home.co.uk will retain its trusted name while gaining continuous product improvements and deeper integration with Homemove’s connected moving platform throughout 2025 and beyond.
