Approval recommended for job creating scheme

Plans for new storage/distribution units on land at Netherfields Lane, near M1 Junction 24a, have been recommended for approval by North West Leicestershire District Council.

A total of 78,967 sqm of floorspace is proposed, located within an area of built development of 17.34 ha.

Seven units would be constructed, ranging between 7,990 sqm and 13,552 sqm. Office space would also be included.

The majority of the site is currently unused/scrub, and a section is occupied by a shooting club.

The, approximately, £230 million development is expected to create around 1,000 jobs.

Newlands Developments Limited are behind the plans.
