63 bedroom hotel given go ahead in Lincoln

Approval has been given for the erection of a 63 bedroom hotel and restaurant by City of Lincoln Council.

The application, submitted by LK2 Architects, proposes a six storey building comprising of Hotel accommodation on the first, second, third and fourth floors and a ground
floor lobby area with access from Clasketgate, along with Restaurant on the fifth
floor, offering views across the city.

Plans state that “the building has been designed to have a rationalist appearance with contemporary Art Deco features that will dramatically enhance the street scene.”

The current building at 27-29 Clasketgate is to be demolished.

A statement reads: “The proposed development would contribute positively towards the sustainable growth of Lincoln’s visitor economy, and support and enhance the City’s role as a key destination for tourism and leisure.”
