Watch the Midlands Director of the Year Awards as it takes place tonight!

The prestigious Midlands Director of the Year Awards, run by the Institute of Directors (IoD) and sponsored by Business Link Magazine, will take place online today (12 November) at 5pm.

For the first time, the IoD East and West Midlands regions have joined forces for the awards, where the winners will be revealed via a virtual ceremony.

The event will bring together great leadership and talent from across the Midlands region in an evening of celebration. The year’s top directors from business, public and third sectors will be recognised across 13 categories, from family business to innovation to equality

Two winners will also be announced for the Chairs Award for excellence, one from each half of the Midlands, chosen by IoD’s Regional Chairs Brian Hall and Gary Headland.

Gary Headland, chair, IoD East Midlands, said: “The unforeseen impact of Covid-19 has prompted many businesses to innovate and provided us with the opportunity to try new ways of doing things. As such, we are running this year’s awards across the whole of the Midlands, offering even greater visibility to our finalists.”

Brian Hall, chair, IoD West Midlands, said: “Now, more than ever, it is imperative that we celebrate directors and their achievements, showcasing those at the forefront of leadership excellence. Congratulations to everyone who has made this shortlist, which is a fantastic achievement in itself.”
