Time Out: Tina Clough, Managing Director of Poppy PR

It’s almost the weekend once again, and that means it’s time to get those feet up and wind down with some fun quick fire questions!

This ‘Time Out’ features business link reader Tina Clough, Managing Director at Poppy PR, who has a varied plethora of hobbies and a knack for interior design…

What is the first thing you do to get the weekend started?                                           After locking up the Poppy PR office over in Ilkeston, once I get home I will put some feel good songs on our Alexa (#notsponsored), crack open a bottle of Prosecco whilst waiting for my husband Julian to arrive home, then we will sit and discuss what our plans are for the weekend.

What is your hobby?                                                                                                         I have actually got a few hobbies (if you can call them that…) I like working out at the gym, though I haven’t been recently after having my little baby girl – but I can’t wait to get back into it. Late last year, I also found a passion for interior design after my husband and I renovated our own barn conversion in Castle Donington. We spent months doing it but the hard work paid off!

I also randomly discovered a passion for wreath making last Christmas! I didn’t attend any classes or lessons, I just taught myself from the internet. Foraging for the decorations and putting it all together was really fun – I ended up making too many. This year I would like to look into floristry! Finally, I love spending my spare time with family, especially after having my own little girl Arabella in February.

What is your favourite movie?                                                                                         I have a few favourites – The Notebook is one, and interestingly enough, quotes from the Notebook were actually implemented into the readings at our wedding! I love the Pirates of the Caribbean films as well as James Bond – but I think that’s more for Daniel Craig!

If you hadn’t been successful at what you do, what would you be doing instead as career?                                                                                                                               I would be an interior designer – I love anything design related, sitting down with a coffee and planning out how something is going to look. I have actually had friends of mine come to me to help them with their interior design too.

If you could have any superpower what would it be?                                                     I’d clone myself, so that I could be in multiple places at once! One Tina in the office, one Tina at client meetings, one Tina on a boat in Barbados with a cocktail….one Tina looking after the little one! The Barbados version would be the most fun!

What is your favourite genre of music?                                                                           Well, my favourite song is ‘Sitting on the Dock of the Bay’ by Otis Reading, but favourite genre is house music. Most summers I go to Marbella with the girls for some sun and girlie time, so house music is played a lot there – I guess it reminds me of happy, summer times!

If you could travel to any moment in time where would you go?                                   I think I would go to the day I died – It sounds morbid but then at least I’d be able to live my life to the fullest – experience new things, and travel to new places before the opportunity vanishes.
