Time Out: Steve King, Director of Tunstall Smith King

The time has come to sit back and relax with another ‘Time Out’. This week’s answers come from Steve King, Director of Tunstall Smith King, who would like to take a peek into the future…

What is the first thing you do to get the weekend started?

With two young boys, it mainly revolves around activities for them, to stop them climbing up the walls with boredom.

What is your hobby?

When I have time for myself, I love to get on my road bike and spend several hours cycling around the countryside…in the sunshine!! I also love live music and given the opportunity attend as many live performances as I can.

What is your favourite movie?

Too many to mention, although one movie that really resonated with me and had me thinking about the plot days and weeks after I watched it was Memento. The way the film was assembled so the plot was played in reverse chronological order must have taken so much thought and planning.

If you hadn’t been successful at what you do, what would you be doing instead as a career?

I think it would have been something within the construction industry. I can’t see any other industry which appeals to me, although I would have liked to have a crack at being a commercial pilot and being able to travel the world.

If you could have any superpower what would it be?

The power to be in more than one place at any one time. I’d get so much done!!! And subsequently have time to fit in my hobbies.

What is your favourite genre of music?

I have an eclectic taste when it comes to music. Growing up I had phases listening to heavy rock, hip hop, r’n’b, house music. I don’t have a favourite genre, most genres interest me. If I like a song or artist I would normally explore that genre to see if there are any other artists I like. Having music readily available through downloadable platforms I am always downloading different albums, to the point that I don’t have the time to listen to them all!

If you could travel to any moment in time where would you go?

Where do I start with this one! Do I travel back in time to witness an historic moment or travel to the future by a couple of hundred years to see how the world has evolved. It would probably have to be the latter as there are so many iconic historic moments that I wouldn’t be able to choose.
