Time Out: Stephen Booth, managing director at Specialist Remediation Solutions

It’s Friday, and the weekend is just around the corner. That means it is time to kick up your feet and relax with some quick fire questions. This ‘Time Out’ features Stephen Booth, managing director at Specialist Remediation Solutions, who could have been a fireman in another life!

What is the first thing you do to get the weekend started?

On Friday I tie up everything at work ready for the next week, then go pick my kids up from school.

What is your hobby?

I play guitar (badly). I’ve been playing for 20 years, and I have a few guitars and a banjo. The first thing I learned to play was Zombie by The Cranberries.

What is your favourite movie?

It’s got to be John Wick, The Beekeeper, or Mrs Doubtfire.

If you hadn’t been successful at what you do, what would you be doing instead as a career?

An electrician or a fireman.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Teleportation. I wouldn’t have to drive anywhere; I could just get up 10 minutes before I needed to be somewhere and teleport into place. Wouldn’t it be awesome? I could start a same hour delivery courier business!

What is your secret talent?

I don’t have one, although I did gain a black belt 1st Dan in TaeKwon-Do.

What is your favourite genre of music?

Rock, Indie and Punk – I like Stereophonics, Oasis, Manic Street Preachers, Green Day, ACDC, and Ocean Colour Scene. I used to work at a lot of the festivals when I did security, so I met a lot of bands.

If you could travel to any moment in time, where would you go?

Back to 1985, when the world made more sense and was a safer place for children to live in. Things were a lot simpler back then.
