Time Out: Nicki Robson, Managing Director at Breedon Consulting Ltd

The weekend is just around the corner and that means another ‘Time Out’. This week Business Link talks to Nicki Robson, Managing Director at Breedon Consulting Ltd.

What is the first thing you do to get the weekend started?

Put on some music, pour a glass of something cold and relax with my nearest and dearest. Friday nights are all about taking it easy, having a giggle, and enjoying the company of the people closest to me.

What is your hobby

Cooking. I love to cook for friends and family – as my daughters say ‘everyone eats when they come to my house!’ Before lockdown I was learning to dance ready for the ‘Leicester Ballroom Glitz’ when I was going to be jiving in front of 500 people at the King Power Stadium in aid of Loros and Leicestershire charity Hope Against Cancer, but sadly that was all put on hold and despite good intentions I haven’t managed to keep practicing. I absolutely loved it though so will be raring to get going again as soon as we can.

What is your favourite movie?

Definitely Dirty Dancing – I love the music, can pretty much recite the whole film and as for the dancing, I can but dream…

If you hadn’t been successful at what you do, what would you being doing instead as a career?

I always fancied having a nice café by the sea, but actually a beach bar would probably be better!

If you could have any superpower what would it be?

The ability to create extra time. It’s the one thing we never have enough of, so it would be great to be able to create some extra time, whether that was just for catching up or for something a little more exciting.

What is your favourite genre of music?

I enjoy lots of music and have been listening to a lot of 80s music during lockdown and reliving my youth, but at heart I’m a rock chick with embarrassing old photos to prove it!

If you could travel to any moment in time where would you go?

Hopefully to the not too distant future when COVID-19 has gone away, the economy has recovered, and all this madness seems like a distant memory.
