The weekend has crept up on us once again. That means it’s time for some quickfire questions with another business leader from our region.
For this week’s ‘Time Out’ we caught up with Beverley Wakefield, co-founder of Vibrant Accountancy.
What is the first thing you do to get the weekend started?
We go for a walk as a family and we have a movie night or play outside depending on energy levels and weather!
What is your hobby?
Generally trying to look after myself, so yoga, running, and any sort of exercising. But I love getting out into the outdoors and walking, whether that’s up in the Peak District or on lower levels with the kids.
What is your favourite movie?
The film for when a good chuckle is needed is The Heat! My favourite Christmas movie, though, has to be Polar Express.
If you hadn’t been successful at what you do, what would you be doing instead as a career?
I’d love to have been an architect or a teacher. I adore buildings and would love to be able to create plans for them; I love working out how you can utilise the space in your home. As a child, I always wanted to be a school teacher – after lockdown though, I’m not sure how successful I would have been!
If you could have any superpower what would it be?
For the commute to our Duffield Road offices from my home, it would have to be flying. That would be incredible. But in all honesty, having the power of healing would be amazing… especially on reflection of this year.
What is your favourite genre of music?
Pass! I must have the most eclectic mix of music ever – you’ll catch me happily listening to Radio One with today’s pop, all the way through to Ludovico Einaudi, through to Bicep and then Alt J.
If you could travel to any moment in time where would you go?
My youngest would definitely say the Cretaceous period to check out the Tyrannosaurus. But I’d just generally love to be able to observe and see how we use to live over the centuries so I’d need an ever changing time machine that can do things on fast forward!!
