Nottingham used car retailer donates nearly 300 Easter eggs

CarShop Nottingham has committed to supporting the local community through a charity partnership with local organisation, The Renewal Trust.

This partnership kicked off at the end of last year, with a campaign that saw the store partially fund and deliver 400 bags of vital goods like food and household items to homes, schools and community centres in two of the most deprived areas of Nottingham – these being St Ann’s and Sneinton.

Now, with children set to break up from school for the Easter holidays, The Renewal Trust will be providing 200 breakfast bags to those who need them. These will contain essential breakfast items such as bread, cereal, butter and juice – along with a seasonal special Easter egg treat for every recipient.

Upon hearing about this, colleagues at CarShop Nottingham volunteered their support. The team set about buying Easter eggs that could be included in the bags and promised its help in delivering the packages on two dates in April.

The store will be donating nearly 300 Easter eggs – all of which have been bought by the team members themselves – and the store will be donating its courtesy car, which displays The Renewal Trust branding on its sides, to the charity for the delivery days to take the breakfast bags and Easter treats from A to B.

A number of its colleagues have also volunteered their time to drive the car and help carry the bags – ensuring that everyone who needs one, receives one.

Carla Pallester, Brand Experience Manager at CarShop Nottingham, said: “The impact of this current lockdown has been felt by all of us and with schools breaking up for Easter, many parents and households might be worried about the financial costs of having more mouths to feed throughout the day.

“But hopefully, with these breakfast bags delivered, we can help lift a weight off their minds and reassure them that they are not alone.”

Cherry Underwood, Chief Executive of The Renewal Trust, added: “We’re so grateful for the support of local businesses like CarShop Nottingham, that take the time to get to know the community and invest in its people. The team were a huge help to us throughout the Christmas campaign, and I’m sure they will be invaluable again now.”
