Solutions for Accounting and CRM, an East Midlands-based Business Management Software Provider, has chosen The Trussell Trust, a charity aiding over 1,200 food banks in the UK, as its charity of the year for 2020.

They have hit the ground running and have already raised £350 in the first couple of weeks of January by hosting a raffle and a dress down day. The raffle prizes included an Amazon Echo Dot, a Kindle Fire and additional annual leave days.

Last year Solutions supported Mind, a mental health charity and raised almost £2,600 for the organisation that supports over 513,000 people across England and Wales. Because of this donation Solutions are helping people, with mental health challenges, have access to advice and support.

This year staff at Solutions are not only donating their money, but also their time by volunteering at local food banks as well as having a food collection box in their office.

Poverty in Britain is on the rise and the use of food banks are at an all-time high. Of the 2000 food banks in the UK, The Trussell Trust account for approximately 1,200 of them and provide not only food, but also support for the 14 million people that are living in poverty in the UK.

Packages are made up by volunteers giving clients a minimum of 3 days worth of nutritionally balanced emergency food. Recently, The Trussell Trust has experienced a 19% increase in the food supplies they are providing, this growing pressure is a cause for concern, so Solutions want to give as much support as possible.

Solutions for Accounting and CRM’s Managing Director, Iain Barker, said “As a local company, giving back to the community is a big part of our ethos. Over the past few years, we have raised thousands of pounds for our charity partners and we are hoping to do so again in 2020.

“As with many of us, working in an office can mean we are glued to our computer screens, which is why this year we want to get out and help those in our community that need it the most. We’ve had a fantastic start with donations in January so we hope that along with all the new, exciting ideas for 2020 that the momentum will continue to grow and help us raise more money than ever!”
