Have you booked your place for the Nottinghamshire Hospitality STARS Awards ?

East Midlands Business Link is proud to have sponsored the 2018 Nottinghamshire Hospitality STARS Awards, which is being held, this year, at the Nottingham Crowne Plaza Hotel on Thursday, 1st November.

Back by popular demand, these awards have been organised by Visit Nottinghamshire, the city and county’s official tourism body, and are produced in affiliation with the Nottingham Hospitality Association and the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence.

Following a flood of applications from Nottinghamshire’s finest tourism and hospitality establishments, the nominations for the 2018 Nottinghamshire Hospitality STARS Awards are being reviewed by the independent body of judges.

The list of nominated businesses was recently revealed in Business Link and can be viewed here. The entries from each of the 14 awards categories – including coveted titles such as Hotel of the Year, Visitor Attraction of the Year, and the Taste of Nottinghamshire Award – are being discussed by the judges, who will decide the winner of each category ahead of the awards ceremony on Thursday, 1st November.

All nominees will be invited to the ceremony, a glamorous black-tie event at the Nottingham Crowne Plaza Hotel which will offer an excellent opportunity for networking, publicity and inspiration. Winners of each category will receive a trophy and can expect invaluable press and promotional opportunities for their business. The awards ceremony will be attended by the Chairman of the VisitEngland Advisory Board, Denis Wormwell, helping the nominated businesses to get themselves noticed nationally.

Brendan Moffet, Chief Executive at Marketing NG, says:“We’ve been overwhelmed and delighted by the record number of nominations we received this year. The exceptionally high quality of applications is testament to Nottinghamshire’s thriving tourism economy, which saw growth of 3.6 percent in 2017. We would like to thank all those who submitted a nomination and we are looking forward to celebrating the fantastic achievements of our tourism and hospitality businesses at the awards ceremony.”

The spotlight is on England’s tourism economy as 2019 will see the 30th anniversary of the VisitEngland Awards for Excellence. The Awards have recently been reviewed and modernised, and will champion innovation in tourism, inspire business excellence and provide enhanced benefits for everyone involved. Winners of the Nottinghamshire Hospitality STARS Awards will get the chance to be profiled during the 30 year celebration events during English Tourism Week, 2019.

Although entries for nominations have now closed, sponsorship of the awards and table sales for this event are still open. Current high-profile sponsors include East Midlands Business Link, ALEA Nottingham, East Midlands Trains, Crowne Plaza,  CODE Print and Promotional and Nottingham BID.

Help us maintain our standards of journalism

Readers across the region enjoy our news site but keeping our news up to date and authoritative, without charging readers to view the site is a challenge. Especially now with the Corona Virus measures affecting us all, as many clients have been severely affected and are naturally reducing their spend on advertisements. Given this lack of revenue stream we are calling on the generosity of our readers to help us fill that void and enable our journalists to continue delivering the news that you enjoy.

Unlike many other news sites, we don't have annoying pop ups or charge scandalous prices for events. We also produce printed magazines for each title and we make these freely available to read on line too, for your enjoyment. Often, people have asked why we don't make a charge for viewers to read these magazines and news stories but we feel that would adversely affect our readership/advertisers response rate. But with advertising revenues now severely affected we need your help. So, if you can support our news sites/magazines with either a small donation of even £1, or a subscription to our magazine, which costs from just £33.60 per year, (inc p&P and mailed direct to your door) your generosity will help us weather the current storm and continue in our quest to deliver quality journalism.

We value your readership and your support, as this enables us to continue to provide our regular daily news updates. We've been established over 30 years, during which we've lost count of the numerous recessions and financial meltdowns, and we intend to weather the storms caused by Covid-19. So, every reader contribution, however big or small, is invaluable in helping us to get through this. Please click here to help support your favourite news site/magazine.
