Founder and CEO of Ramsden International awarded MBE for services to international trade

Sean Ramsden, founder and CEO of the export wholesaler of British food and drink, Ramsden International, has been awarded an MBE from HRH her Majesty the Queen for ‘services to International Trade’.

The award was announced in the 2020 New Year’s honours list in which The Queen acknowledges an individual’s exceptional achievement or service.

The recognition comes as Ramsden International, headquartered in Grimsby, celebrates its 25th anniversary under his leadership. The business now exports 24,000 British products spanning globally recognised to smaller artisan producers to more than 650 customers in 133 countries.

Sean said: “I am honoured to receive this prestigious award and on behalf of the outstanding team at Ramsden International, who have delivered unparalleled standards to our partners across the globe for the past 25 years.

“Against a backdrop of political uncertainty for us, international trade has continued to grow year on year and 2020 has got off to an exceptional start. Reflecting on the successes of the last quarter of a century we now look forward to the future for Ramsden International in this landmark year for the business.”

In addition to his executive role at Ramsden International, Sean is a Non-Executive Director at the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) and Trustee-Director of the Institute of Export and International Trade. He sits on the Management Committee of the Food and Drink Exporters Association and the Department for International Trade Strategic Trade Advisory Group; the Council of the International Chamber of Commerce (London branch); the Lincoln Business School Advisory Board and the Hull and Humber Chamber of Commerce Council.
