East Midlands housebuilder puts best foot forward

An East Midlands housebuilder has announced it is supporting a local hospice this year – and has already raised over £4,500 for the charity.

Redrow Homes East Midlands has taken on the Peak District Challenge, a gruelling 52km hike completed in just one day – with all funds raised, a total of £4503 being donated to its chosen charity for this year, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

The 52km endurance challenge saw the housebuilder team of five take part in a number of training walks in preparation for the Half Peak District Loop, which included a total climb of 1,400m through Derbyshire’s beautiful scenery.

This is the first of many fundraising endeavours planned for the Redrow Homes East Midlands team as it aims to raise funds for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People throughout this year.

Based in Loughborough, the hospice provides children and young people with end of life care, symptom management, short breaks and respite care, as well as much-needed support to their families and friends.

Martyn Pask, Regional Director for Redrow Homes East Midlands, said: “We are very happy to announce that we are supporting Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People this year. The hospice provides essential support for the people of the East Midlands, and we are thrilled to have already raised over £4,500 in our first fundraising endeavour.”

Emily Wright, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, said: “We would like to say thank you to the Redrow Homes East Midlands team for choosing to support our hospice throughout this year. It’s through fundraising initiatives, like the team taking on this impressive challenge, which mean that we are able to provide support and care for the children and their families across the region who need it most.

“The team has already raised a wonderful amount to support us and we can’t wait to see what they take on next.”
