The largest-ever delegation from Derby and Derbyshire will be attending MIPIM 2019 – the annual global real estate exhibition held in Cannes, France. A combination of public and private sector officials will join members of the Marketing Derby inward investment team to promote the city and county to investors from across the globe.
Next year’s event runs from Tuesday 12th March to Friday 15th March and marks the 30th anniversary of the world’s leading property market. Having a strong delegation is critical to ensuring the 26,000+ international participants hear the strong messages the city and county have to share about developments and a range of investment opportunities.
John Forkin, Managing Director of Marketing Derby, said: “MIPIM is an excellent opportunity to showcase Derby and Derbyshire to a global audience. We have had great successes in previous years with schemes conceived in Cannes and nurtured in Derby now forming part of the city’s skyline. Our team continues to go from strength to strength – the close collaboration, and support from our partners, is invaluable to our success.”
As well as representatives from the City and County Councils, Team Derby and Derbyshire will also include private sector support from Headline Sponsors The University of Derby and law firm Smith Partnership, as well as Faithful+Gould, Godwin Developments, Idom Merebrook, Innes England, Knights plc and East Midlands Airport. There is also potential for the team to grow further, with a limited number of sponsorship packages still available.
For the third year, Marketing Derby will join forces with other investment promotion agencies, councils and organisations to represent Derby and Derbyshire as part of the Midlands UK pavilion. In 2018, the Midlands Pavilion welcomed more than 4,700 visitors over the course of the week, including potential investors, property agents, developers and media from over 100 countries.
One highlight of the week in Cannes will be the Marketing Derby Embassy, which in 2019 will be a landmark event as the first ever Derby and Derbyshire International Embassy. Held on 13th March, the event is always over-subscribed, pre-booking is essential. Further details are available on the Marketing Derby website.
