Chamber teams up with Help the Homeless Leicester to back Sox & Box campaign

East Midlands Chamber is supporting Help the Homeless Leicester by encouraging businesses to take part in the charity’s Sox & Box campaign.

Organisations and individuals can donate new socks and boxer shorts, which will then be handed out to service users.

Help the Homeless Leicester, which helps homeless people to transform their lives and has the ultimate aim of eradicating rough sleeping in the city, will make collections from business premises on certain dates in May but people can also arrange their own deliveries.

Founder Arif Voraji said: “We are delighted as an East Midlands Chamber member to be working together on this campaign. We provide so many services to people and this campaign will really help people that need our support.

“Please donate what you can and make sure you upload your pictures onto social media, tag us in and use the hashtag #SoxAndBox. We thank everyone so much for their kind support.”

Lucy Robinson, East Midlands Chamber’s director of resources, added: “Arif and the team at Help the Homeless Leicester provide vital services to people who really need it after falling on hard times.

“For us to all to be able to give a little back and support this organisation is brilliant. We hope that with the support of our members, the wider business community and individual people, we can really make a difference. It’s a fantastic opportunity for all of us to get involved and support this amazing charity.”

Help the Homeless Leicester is one of three charities being supported by East Midlands Chamber throughout 2021 after being chosen by president Eileen Richards MBE, alongside Chesterfield Samaritans and Nottinghamshire Hospice.

Collections for the Sox & Box campaign will be made in Derbyshire on Tuesday 25 May, Nottinghamshire on Wednesday 26 May, and Leicestershire on Thursday 27 May. To book a collection from your premises, email
