A mental workout for entrepreneurial business owners

Midlands-based accountancy firm PKF Cooper Parry recently opened its doors to over 100 professionals from the Midlands business community for an event with Peter Roberts – founder of Britain’s biggest gym chain, PureGym.

Having worked in a variety of industries, in many different roles, Peter talked about the lifecycle of a business including how to grow, fund and exit a company. He shared stories from his 40 years as an entrepreneur, and explained what it takes to take a brand like PureGym from concept through to a £160m turnover business and a Sunday Times Fast Track 100 company.

The event formed part of PKF Cooper Parry’s CP Talks series – an event programme which aims to bring entrepreneurs and business owners together from across the Midlands together to network, connect and be inspired.

It was the second CP Talks event to be held. At the firm’s previous event, the audience was joined by serial entrepreneur, Jenny Campbell, founder of YourCash and the latest Dragon to join the Den.

On the evening, PKF Cooper Parry’s Head of Audit, Andy Chandler, said: “At PKF Cooper Parry, we pride ourselves on doing things differently, and in a way that continues to make us the number one choice for entrepreneurial business owners in the Midlands.

“Peter delivered a fantastic talk this evening, as did Jenny Campbell at our last CP Talks event. Events such as this give entrepreneurs a fantastic opportunity to network, connect and be inspired in a business community that we’re very proud to be a part of.”
