Closer cooperation between Derby and Nottingham through a ‘Metro Strategy’ will be the subject of a summit taking place in January.

Last month, Metro Dynamics Consultancy published its independent report – The Economic Case for the Derby-Nottingham Metro – which assessed the economic potential of the Derby-Nottingham urban area.

The report makes a strong case for collaboration with significant potential for growing the economy for the benefit of local people.

It also presents challenges.

The summit will give all stakeholder organisations from across the urban areas surrounding the two cities an opportunity to discuss its complexities.

It is hoped it will lead to a coalition to agree how to take forward a refreshed Metro Strategy.

To be part of the discussion, book your place through events@nottinghamcity.gov.uk .

Only 150 places are available so booking is essential.

Joining instructions and the programme will be sent to delegates in the New Year.
