Sir John Peace, Chairman of the Midlands Engine, is appealing for increased participation between the Midlands Engine partnership and businesses /stakeholders to power the Midlands Engine.
He says: “At the Midlands Engine, we are entering the beginning of an exciting 12 months for the partnership and we are seeking to engage with as many businesses, residents and stakeholders across the Midlands as possible.
“The Midlands Engine, a partnership of local and combined authorities, local enterprise partnerships, universities and businesses, prepared its Vision for Growth in response to the Government’s Midlands Engine Strategy.
“Our vision is to accelerate growth in the Midlands economy by £54bn by 2030 making the region a better place to live, visit, study and do business.
“The size of the prize is huge but we will only succeed if we have as many businesses and residents actively engaged as possible.
“That is why we have recently appointed an independent marketing agency, CreativeRace, to lead a multi-channel communication campaign for 2018/19.
Sir John continues ” Engagement activity is currently well underway across the Midlands and we are urging people to take an online surveywhich can also be found connected to a news story on our website. This will give you the opportunity to help shape a communications campaign by letting us know what you think the priorities and focus should be for the activity.
“Due to the tight timeframes, the deadline for the survey is Wednesday 5th December 2018.
“The aim is to ensure that the communications campaign is relevant to as many audiences across the region as possible.
“Following some engagement activity in the East Midlands, CreativeRace will now be attending a couple of business events in the West Midlands:
- Thursday November 29th (11.30am – 2.30pm) – business engagement event by Team Lincolnshire at the Hotel du Vin in Birmingham.
- Friday 30 November – annual conference of the Worcestershire LEP at Chateau Impney in Droitwich.
“If you are attending either of these, please make sure you track down their “pop-up clinic” where the team will be keen to hear your views.
“Once the engagement phase is complete, CreativeRace will start to build a powerful narrative for Midlands’ growth and development that will not just create a competitive and compelling image of the region at home but also overseas.
