Derbyshire sign new deal with A1 Comms

Derbyshire County Cricket Club has named A1 Comms Business as its mobile telecommunications partner until the end of 2021.

The Alfreton-based company supplies EE-connected mobiles to the club’s playing, coaching and operational team.

This new sponsorship cements a relationship with the cricket club which stretches back over many years.

It follows the arrival of Steve Heald as Managing Director of A1 Comms Business division.

Steve joined from O2 UK and is already working to expand A1 Comms B2B fixed-line and mobile offer to firms, especially in the East Midlands.

He said: “We are delighted to support other businesses, particularly ones with such deep community affiliations as Derbyshire County Cricket Club which is marking its 150th anniversary.

“We also know how hard the cricket club works on bringing local businesses together through initiatives such as its 1870 Business Club.

“This sponsorship gives us a great opportunity to give back to the community while providing the connections to showcase our great products and services.”

Ryan Duckett, Derbyshire County Cricket Club’s Chief Executive, said: “We have had a brilliant long-term relationship with A1 Comms which can only be further strengthened following Steve’s arrival.

“They provide a superb service and great products at a very competitive rate and they are a great local company so there are plenty of wins. It is a boost to know we will be moving forward with them over the next two years.”
