Derby training provider with over 3000 apprentices enters administration

Derby headquartered training provider 3aaa (Aspire Achieve Advance) has entered administration, leaving over 3000 apprentices questioning their futures.

In a statement on the firm’s website 3aaa said: “We apologies for any inconvenience, the company has now entered administration and will no longer be accepting any further Business. All the best for all Employers, 3aaa Apprentices and Staff in the future.”

The news comes after an investigation was launched against the firm by the Department for Education in regards to inflated success rates, which has now been handed over to police.

The Education and Skills Funding Agency said: “In conjunction with recent investigations, we have issued notices to terminate contracts with 3aaa. The notices will bring the contracts to an end in a three month period, in January 2019.

“During the notice period, the suspension on apprenticeship enrolments remains in place. Our investigations will continue until all concerns have been addressed.

“Our priority is to protect the apprentices and to ensure minimum disruption to their learning. We will source high quality alternative provision as quickly as possible and support apprentices and employers to enable them to continue with their apprenticeship programme. We will write to all apprentices and employers to explain the next steps.”

Founded in 2008, 3aaa operated from 34 locations and had been rated a Grade 1 Outstanding provider by Ofsted. The two founders of the firm left the board at the end of September.

According to FE Week, the administration came as a result of no suitable deal being reached.

In response to the news, East Midlands based CT Skills have opened up a special hotline to 3aaa employees, learners and employers.

CT Skills CEO, Alex Ford said: “We know that there are many very, very good people at 3aaa. We know they have developed some fantastic relationships with businesses that have seen thousands of learners improve their skills, confidence and life chances. We know that these good people are categorically NOT the cause of 3aaa entering into administration today.

“CT Skills are a business that does the right things, for the right reasons, with the right people. And we have fun. That’s why we are keen to hear from anybody at 3aaa who is looking for a quick, positive start with a company that has all too much experience in managing these situations and minimising disruption to you, your learners and your employers.

“Please get in touch. We’ll respond quickly and treat you honestly and respectfully. Good luck to all of you, I hope we can help.”
