Derbyshire-based loading and unloading equipment manufacturer Thorworld Industries has celebrated 35 years of business with an open morning for its staff and their families.
Founder and managing director John Meale decided to open the doors to the company’s head office in Chesterfield on Saturday 7th May to say thank you to his staff, and give their friends and families a glimpse of what goes on at Thorworld.
He said: “Since Thorworld Industries sold its first loading solution in 1981, we’ve continually strived to provide an extensive portfolio of high quality products, all supported by unsurpassed customer service. We have been able to do this thanks to our employees, who are the reason we have reached this fantastic milestone”.
“Their knowledge of the industry and dedication to the company have been invaluable in ensuring Thorworld continues to be the successful company it is. We wanted to do something which showed our appreciation and also gave our members of staff the opportunity to share the celebrations with their loved ones”.
It has already been an eventful year for Thorworld. Not only is the company celebrating its 35th anniversary, but it has recently appointed three new directors. Traditionally a family run business, these appointments mark a progression for the company, with new ideas and strategies helping to strengthen and expand the business.
Meale added: “It’s our employees who make us the leading loading and unloading specialist in the industry. We recruit highly driven and skilled employees who manufacture, install and maintain equipment which is designed to perform and last. We’ve always taken the opinion that you never stop learning. To that end we ensure all our employees have the knowledge, continual training and development to place Thorworld at the cutting edge. This knowledge and understanding enables each team member to serve customers better and deliver the very best solutions every time.
“The first 35 years of Thorworld have been extremely successful – and if we continue to innovate, develop and learn, the next 35 should be as equally impressive”.
