Repton based engine manufacturer Gibson Technology is celebrating after another successful Le Mans 24 hour race. In LMP1, Gibson’s GL458 engine made its Le Mans debut with Rebellion Racing and DragonSpeed Racing teams.
The LMP2 race was hard fought throughout, with all 20 entrants powered by Gibson GK428 engines. Podium places were won by G-Drive Racing, Signatech Alpine and Graff Racing respectively.
Gibson’s GL458 engine was designed, developed and manufactured ready for the 2018/19 World Endurance Championship (WEC) SuperSeason, showcasing their engine technology at the highest level of endurance racing.
Rebellion’s two car team finished the gruelling 24 hours a credible 3rd and 4th overall, the #3 Rebellion took 3rdon the overall podium behind the manufacturer Toyotas, a huge achievement for a privateer team. The DragonSpeed Racing #10 unfortunately retired after 17 hours, unrelated to engine issues.
An impressive 14 out of the top 16 finishers at Le Mans 2018 were powered by Gibson engines.
