The University of Northampton is aiming to strengthen ties between local businesses and China’s next-generation automotive industry.
To help reach this aim, the University’s China and Emerging Economics Centre (CEEC) is hosting a free event on Thursday 19 April.
It will feature a talk from Dr Jun Qiao, Chief Engineer of the UK R&D Centre at Chinese automotive manufacturer Changan. Dr. Qiao will discuss the latest innovations in New Energy Vehicle Technology Development in China.
The event is the first in a planned series of international business showcases hosted by the CEEC. It will provide greater understanding of the opportunities, and challenges, of doing business in some of the world’s largest and fastest growing economies.
Dr Shaowei He, Associate Professor in International Business and Director of the CEEC said: “Events like these are a great way to facilitate UK-China collaboration on high performance engineering.
“The key aim for this event is to raise local awareness of business opportunities in China and help engage local businesses with this market.
“From the University’s perspective it could be invaluable for staff to gain research access and consultancy opportunities, and for students to gain future international job opportunities.”
