Rutland logistics company C S Ellis has seen turnover reach £19.3 million for the year to 30 June 2018 rising from £18.8 million in the prior financial year.

The same period also saw the firm’s pre-tax profits dipped from £826,924 to £651,739.

According to a statement signed off by the board: “The directors are pleased with another excellent trading year for the group.

“Despite an element of consolidation after two years of high growth, turnover has still seen a steady increase of 2.4%.

“A firm eye has been kept on costs which has seen the profit before tax margin increase, after removing the impact of the downward revaluation of investment property amounting £228,000 that is included within administration expenditure, from 4.38 per cent to 4.55 per cent.

“The group continues to focus on the future and has sustained its strong investment in both assets and people.

“The assets have taken the form of fleet renewal in C S Ellis (Group), new exhibition trailers in Versatile Ventures and the commencement of the third new warehouse in as many years at the Wireless Hill site.”
