Residential surveying specialist, SDL Surveying, has had a record year which has seen the Nottingham-based business increase both its revenue and market share.
In 2019, the firm has seen total revenue increase by 8 per cent year-on-year bringing it to over £13 million. This figure has been driven by both an increase in its managed volumes and the work carried out via its internal surveyors.
Over the course of the year, SDL Surveying completed a total of 220,000 valuations, and increased its market share from 14 per cent to 20 per cent. This growth in market share was accelerated by increases in allocation from some of its lenders and appointment as a lead panel manager for a prominent national lender, with another lender granting SDL Surveying lead panel manager status which will take effect from January.
The surveying firm has also seen a 28 per cent increase in the number of its own staff surveyors following the launch of its recruitment campaign at the start of the year. The innovative campaign focuses on recruiting from a fresh talent pool to inject new capacity to both SDL Surveying and into the industry.
As well as increasing its staff numbers, SDL Surveying has grown the size of its national network by a further 53 per cent in 2019, adding an additional 115 surveyors – bringing the total to 332.
Simon Jackson, Managing Director of SDL Surveying, said: “2019 has been a fantastic year for the business – we have significantly increased our market share, by increases in allocation and becoming lead panel manager for one of lenders whom we have had a longstanding partnership. We are excited to kick-start the new year by becoming the lead panel manager for another one of our lender clients.
“In order to fulfil the increases in allocation we have successfully grown both our network and the number of our own staff surveyors throughout 2019, and we will be looking to do the same in 2020.
“These achievements throughout the year would not have been possible if it wasn’t for the hard work and dedication of the entire SDL Surveying team, of whom I am really proud.”
