A strong demand for interim roles within the East Midlands has lead to a record year for Nottingham-based recruitment agency Distinct Recruitment.
The company, which moved into its new larger headquarters at Fothergill House on Nottingham’s King Street in early 2018, has grown; increasing it’s headcount to more than 30 members of staff as of the start of the year, in addition to announcing a record turnover of £4 million.
In conjunction with company profit growing 110% year on year, Distinct successfully managed to place more than 600 people in jobs across the East Midlands throughout 2018, with a noticeable increase in demand for interim roles throughout the region being key to business growth.
James Calder, CEO at Distinct, said: “We are delighted by the progress we have managed to achieve over the past 12 months – the growth is a real testament to the talented team of staff we are continuing to build and develop here in Nottingham.
“In addition to winning a number of new clients and growing existing accounts, ranging from SMEs to PLCs, the growth of the temporary jobs market has also played a pivotal role in how we operate and work with the region’s businesses. We currently have over 70 interim staff placed in accounting and finance, HR, procurement, office support and marketing roles across the East Midlands.”
Distinct has plans to grow its staff cohort to more than 50 people over the next two years, with a continued focus on flexible and fluid working practices set to influence the types of roles they recruit for in the coming months.
Calder, adds: “While continued growth is obviously a key benchmark for the business, the number one priority is to maintain the culture and reputation we have created at Distinct over the past couple of years.
“Despite the recent headlines and talks surrounding the economy and Brexit, I firmly believe the future of recruitment within the East Midlands is bright given the talent shortage across all sectors.
“There is an evident skills shortage across the country and this will underpin the sector. And, with the prominence of technology and servicing offerings becoming increasingly important, businesses who aren’t able to adapt and change with the times will ultimately get left behind.”
