Five-figure funding boost for Lincs social enterprise

Think2Speak, a social enterprise based in Lincolnshire, has been awarded £80,000 in National Lottery funding to support its work with children and young people.

The funding boost comprises of £10,000 to provide wellbeing support to children and their families, and £70,000 from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund to develop their unique LGBTQ+ peer support programme.

The new funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, which distributes money raised by National Lottery players for good causes and is the largest community funder in the UK, will see these group expand with one to one support available, and will also enable people of all ages to become Think2Speak accredited peer supporters.

“Now, thanks to National Lottery players we will be able to press on with our plans to broaden the range of opportunities Think2Speak are able to make available to LGBTQ+ young people who have been disproportionally impacted by lockdown,” said Think2Speak founder and CEO Lizzie Jordan.

“This is important because it helps them to build relationships with others facing similar challenges and to create their own supportive circles of friends and peers.”
