South Kesteven District Council has allocated £1.66m for the St Peter’s Hill Public Realm project in Grantham.

The funds are vital to ensure the delivery of the project which will enhance the St Peter’s Hill Cinema, restaurant and office accommodation as part of the wider Grantham town centre regeneration.

This news comes with the council’s approval for the demolition of a section of Council offices and new public realm works linking from Edith Smith Way to the frontage of the new cinema building; a glazed walkway from the Council offices to the civic suite and a new staff entrance to the Council offices.

Work commenced on the St Peter’s Hill Cinema Project site in March 2018. The construction of the cinema is to practically complete by December 2018, to allow for the Cinema a planned opening in Easter 2019.

The cinema project involves the construction of a 5 screen cinema, restaurant and office space. Commercial agents have been instructed to market the ground floor restaurant space and discussions are underway with a potential occupier to use the first floor office accommodation subject to agreement and funding.
