Vaping start-up looks to raise £1m and create local jobs

A London start-up established by a Leicester local is set to raise over £1m in investment and create employment in the East Midlands.

Ryan Shaw’s Shoreditch is a new vape brand. By reimaging the popular subscription box notion that has thrived in the snack and beauty industries, Shoreditch creates a tailored selection of their own unique blends of UK-made e-liquids that are sent directly to their customers through the post each month.

Shoreditch has already attracted £500,000 in investment, and has been expanding rapidly. Now looking at logistics closer to home, the company’s founder is hoping to create ten positions in the East Midlands, and has his sights set on a further £1m in investment.

Director Shaw, who is originally from Hinckley, said: “We’ve been successful because we recognise our customers have very busy lives, and what we do allows them to slot vaping seamlessly into their routine by taking the hassle out. We’ve had some incredible investment so far, and the interest just keeps coming. As a local lad, I wanted to share some of that achievement with the place I come from by considering how we can expand in the area and create jobs for local people. Good business is about being successful, and giving other people opportunities off the back of that success, so we can continue to grow together”.

Former John Cleveland College student Shaw will be launching a crowdfunding campaign in December offering investors the chance to get involved with the business.
