The weekend has come back around again, and that means some more quick fire questions. This week’s ‘Time Out’ features Lisa Wills, Owner of John M Lewis and Co, who once had aspirations of becoming a air traffic controller!
What is the first thing you do to get the weekend started?
Traditionally, Friday is the busiest day in the Conveyancing world with most people moving house on a that day so I’m always glad to get home and usually start the weekend with a glass of wine and a take-away.
What is your hobby?
Not sure I really have time for a hobby as such, but I have a 9 year old daughter who keeps me very busy.
What is your favourite movie?
This is a hard one – but I think it would have to be Some Like It Hot – a black and white classic with Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. They don’t make films like they used to!
If you hadn’t been successful at what you do, what would you be doing instead as a career?
I think I’m quite a people person as I enjoy helping people move house, and particularly like my elderly client care providing Wills, Estate Planning and Powers of Attorney so suspect I would still be working in some kind of service industry – but at school I had aspirations of being an Air Traffic Controller!
If you could have any superpower what would it be?
I think I’d love a photographic memory. It would come in really handy.
What is your favourite genre of music?
Another difficult question – I love lots of different kinds of music. My daughter has introduced me to Capital Radio so I’m liking a lot of modern stuff but I am really an 80s girl at heart so loved Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and recently enjoyed seeing ABC on their Lexicon of Love tour.
If you could travel to any moment in time where would you go?
I’d like to go back to a time of peace and tranquillity so probably some time in the late 1800s or early 1900s (Downton Abbey era). Life would have been slower and less stressful I think – but not much conveyancing work to do!
