Emirates is preparing to take on maintenance work for its own Trent 900 engines after signing an agreement with Rolls-Royce. The deal gives the airline approval to perform Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul activities on the engines that power its A380 fleet.
The arrangement also extends Emirates’ TotalCare support for the Trent 900 into the 2040s, securing long-term service coverage. TotalCare is the programme used by Rolls-Royce to manage engine performance, maintenance planning, and cost visibility through continuous health monitoring.
To deliver the new capability, Emirates will build a dedicated maintenance facility that is expected to begin receiving engines from 2027. The site will focus on fan case repairs, while Rolls-Royce will continue to handle module repairs across its global network.
