Rhodes wins Essex waste job

Nottingham-based DL Rhodes & Son has landed a £1.5m contract to redevelop a waste recycling facility in Barking, Essex.

Biffa Waste Services purchased the scrap yard on Ripple Road in March. DL Rhodes tendered for the project and was awarded the job, which began in April and is expected to take seven months to complete. The £1.5m project will include demolishing Biffa’s existing offices and building new ones, as well as installing a new drainage infrastructure, new interceptors and resurfacing the new area of land. Managing director at DL Rhodes & Son, Nigel Rhodes, said: “Everyone at DL Rhodes is delighted to have won the tender to redevelop the waste recycling facility on Ripple Road in Barking. “We are heavily involved with waste recycling around the country and we are very much looking forward to handing this project back to Biffa in October. We are positive that they will be delighted with the standard of work completed.”
