Record year for Freeths sparks expansion

Colin Flanagan, Chairman of Freeths

National law firm Freeths have seen Pre-tax profits top £30m, newly filed accounts have revealed, with the company now planning to expand. Currently they employ almost 350 staff, with local offices at Nottingham, Leicester, and Derby.

The firm’s turnover increased from £65.2m to £74.7m during the 12 months to 31 March 2017, with pre-tax profits also climbing from £25m to £30.7m over the same period.

“Group turnover increased by 14 per cent and profit before tax increased by 22 per cent: this was an excellent performance given that it was against the background of very good results in the previous year” a board statement revealed.

“We have been victims of our own success with the significant growth of our Leeds and London offices, and therefore need to contemplate acquiring further office space in those locations earlier than anticipated.

“We look forward to the challenges ahead and the board is committed to a programme of continuous improvement to consolidate our position as a leading UK law firm.”
