New Horncastle business park expansion draws early investor interest

A major land expansion in Horncastle has already attracted buyers ahead of completion, signalling strong demand for commercial space in Lincolnshire.

The £1.9 million project, jointly funded by Lincolnshire County Council and East Lindsey District Council, has transformed four acres at the Boston Road Industrial Estate into the new Hornbeam Business Park. The investment includes £1.5 million from the county council and £400,000 from the district council to create fully serviced development plots.

Before the project reached completion, two local firms submitted offers to acquire plots, aligning with their plans for expansion in the area. Cllr Liam Kelly, executive councillor for growth, said: “Our councils invested here as businesses told us they needed space to relocate and grow in the county.

“It’s great to see that two local companies have already snapped up this opportunity, and that we’ve been able to work in collaboration with the district council to support and fulfil their needs.”

The new business park is expected to accommodate around 65 jobs and contribute approximately £2.4 million annually to the local economy. The development forms part of a wider county initiative to expand business and industrial parks, supporting key growth sectors such as advanced manufacturing, defence, and agri-food.

Lincolnshire County Council’s broader investment programme aims to generate around 3,000 new job opportunities through similar projects across East Lindsey, Lincoln, South Holland, and West Lindsey.

One plot remains available for purchase at Hornbeam Business Park.
