New director at Bedrock Tax

Nottingham-based tax consultancy Bedrock has announced the appointment of Lisa Topliss as a director – joining Phill Dann on the board.

Topliss helped establish Bedrock Tax in 2015 having previously worked for EDF Tax, PKF, Deloitte and HMRC. She has been a VAT specialist for more than 20 years, and is experienced at working with business owners, charities and sports organisations.

She also has experience of working with clients who have taken cases to the VAT Tribunal and the European Court of Justice. Topliss works with clients who are involved in disputes with HMRC, assists with negotiating assessments, mitigating penalties and managing client relationships with the Revenue.

Topliss said: “I’m delighted to be a drector of Bedrock, this is an exciting time for the company as the demand for specialist tax advice continues to grow with us attracting new clients from across the UK. Along with the rest of the team I strongly believe that business owners need access to straight talking tax advice that keeps things simple and easy to understand. Bedrock fills a gap in the market as we work alongside existing trusted adviser relationships without treading on toes.”

Bedrock MD Phill Dann added: “Lisa’s appointment as a director is recognition of her contribution to establishing Bedrock and the company’s rapid growth which is a direct result of her leadership of the team. Her promotion is testimony to her dedication and hard work to drive innovation and deliver a quality service to all our clients whether direct to business owners or via their accountant.”

Bedrock provides a range of tax expertise that is typically only found in the Big 4 accountancy firms. Located in Nottingham with a UK-wide client base, the firm works with accountants and business owners to help them navigate tax regulations.
