Modern workspace refurbishment reinforces BWB & QMP merger

When engineering consultancy BWB Group acquired multidisciplinary consultant QMP, the company needed new, modern and flexible offices in Market Harborough, and turned to its long-term workspace partner, Derby company 360Degrees, to design, manage and install the refurbishment.

The remodelling of the two-story office block, newly leased by BWB as part of the investment in its expanded work force, marks the sixth project that 360Degrees has managed for BWB Consultancy’s premises across the UK.

Martin Strong, service director QMP at BWB Group, said: “BWB wanted to continue the excellent working relationship with 360Degrees to maintain continuity between the company’s offices across the UK.  At the same time, we’re keeping QMP branding, so 360Dgrees has put a different slant on this building to reflect that.

“For example, furniture styles are consistent with existing BWB offices, but QMP corporate colours have been used to maintain a link to QMP’s heritage”.

Key to the refurbishment was to make the building suitable for the demands of modern working.  Strong added: “Even though it’s not a particularly old building, 360Degrees recommended lots of improvements to the layout to make the most out of the space and create a better flow between work and rest”.

In addition to open plan offices, each floor includes a break-out area with a kitchen, while toilets have been relocated to maximise office space.

There is space for 26 desks, as well as a breakfast bar-style hot desking area. With its location close to the M1, this provides BWB Group an accessible base where staff can drop in and work alongside the building’s regular staff.

For visitors, a “meet and greet” space at the entrance leads into a suite of meeting rooms, equipped with state-of-the-art systems for video conferencing.

Strong added: “Our office building is well-designed. 360Degrees also achieved a really fast turnaround to get us up and running in the new premises and help to ensure our seamless transition to being part of the BWB Group”.
