Loughborough University has strengthened its position in global sustainability performance, moving to 64th out of 2,002 institutions in the latest QS World University Rankings: Sustainability. The university advanced from 80th place in the previous year.
The assessment measures Environmental Impact, Social Impact and Governance. Loughborough recorded notable results in Social Impact (46th worldwide) and Environmental Impact (84th).
Within the UK, the university ranked 10th for Environmental Sustainability, supported by initiatives such as energy-efficient upgrades across campus facilities and ongoing progress under its Sustainability Strategy.
Its overall score increased to 92.5 out of 100, up from 88.3, signalling continued improvement across sustainability-related education, research and operational activity.
