Inovara Group has completed the acquisition of IBL Lighting, adding a UK-based LED technology business to its pan-European platform. IBL Lighting, founded in 1986 and headquartered in Guildford, supplies architectural lighting for major international projects across hospitality, retail, airports and premium residential developments. The company operates in the UK and maintains an assembly facility in China that supports global distribution.
The acquisition strengthens Inovara’s technology base and broadens its access to high-value architectural markets.
Matt Norrington, Partner at Ambienta, commented: “The acquisition of IBL marks another important stage in Inovara’s growth, bringing in IBL’s strong technical capabilities and a reputation for delivering high-quality architectural lighting into flagship projects globally. This acquisition reinforces Inovara’s positioning as a leading pan-European provider of LED lighting and creates exciting new opportunities for the Group across the global architectural lighting market.”
IBL becomes the third company to join the Group following earlier acquisitions in 2022 and 2023. The move aligns with Ambienta’s strategy to scale a European leader in energy-efficient lighting.
Guy Williams, Chief Executive Officer of Inovara Group, said: “We are tremendously excited to bring IBL into the Inovara family. The business is a superb fit with our strategy of assembling complementary, world-class lighting brands. IBL’s technical platform, impressive growth, and global reputation will substantially strengthen our offering in the architectural sector and expand our international footprint. We look forward to welcoming IBL’s talented team.”
The transaction also supports continued market demand for high-efficiency LED solutions across new developments and retrofits. Inovara reports that its product portfolio has contributed to reduced energy use, lower material consumption, and a measurable decline in CO₂ emissions across projects deploying its luminaires.
