Fisher German deal to bring new homes to Leicestershire village

More than 30 affordable homes are set to be built in a Leicestershire village following a deal completed by property firm Fisher German.

The properties form part of an 88-home scheme that has been brought to the market by land promoter, Richborough Estates and which will be delivered by Miller Homes.

The site off Normanton Lane in Bottesford was recently awarded planning permission by Melton Borough Council.

In addition to 33 affordable homes, the scheme will also see the provision of a new car park and upgrade of existing car parking to serve the nearby railway station.

The landowner, along with Richborough Estates, also committed to deliver improvements to leisure and recreational facilities in the village.

Luke Brafield, associate director at Fisher German’s Ashby office, oversaw the deal.

He said: “Not only will this site deliver much needed new homes for this area – including a number of affordable units – thanks to the generosity of the landowners and Richborough Estates there will also be a significant improvement to local facilities over and above what is required within the planning permission.

“We were delighted to work with the landowners throughout the development cycle, advising on planning potential and negotiating a promotion agreement with Richborough Estates before obtaining planning permission and ultimately achieving a sale to Miller Homes.”

Richborough Estates acted as land promoter for the site, working closely with the planning team at Fisher German to obtain planning permission.

Steve Louth from Richborough Estates, said: “We are delighted with the outcome of this project. By proactively working with the Council, the local community, Network Rail and Miller Homes we have unlocked a technically complex site.

“We are grateful to Fisher German and the landowner for their support and for putting their trust in Richborough Estates, and we are excited to see construction start on site.”

Miller Homes has started work on the development which will comprise a mixture of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties, including a number of two and three-bed bungalows. The homes are expected to be released for sale in the autumn.

And Alastair Parsons, area sales director for Miller Homes Midlands said: “We are looking forward to creating a brand new neighbourhood in Bottesford.

“We are committed to providing affordable housing on all of our developments and are delighted to have 37 per cent of the total number of properties on this site offered as affordable homes.

“We look forward to welcoming house hunters to have a look at our properties for themselves when our new show home opens in the autumn.”
